Suir on valminud mesilaste tarus fermenteerunud õietolmust, millele on mesilane lisanud mett ja sekreteeritud seedeensüüme. See sisaldab keskmiselt 20% valke ja 3% vitamiine (K-, C-, E- ja B-grupi vitamiine, biotiin, foolhape). Samuti on olulised koostisosad ka küllastumata rasvhapped ning mineraalained nagu seleen, kaltsium, vask, tsink ja raud. Suiris esinevad kõik inimorganismile asendamatud aminohapped.
